Chester County Library
Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library have been a valued part of our organization for several years.  The Friends have arranged several adult education workshops on a wide array of subjects such as genealogy, gardening, day trips, finances, and growing herbs.  In 1998, the Friends received the nationwide Baker and Taylor Public Library Small Budget Award.  The Friends sponsored a community-wide yard sale that raised $10,000.00 for the library building fund in 1997.

The Friends have embarked on a variety of library fund-raising including the publication of two cookbooks.  The first Friends cookbook, Chester County: One Slice At A Time, was featured in an on-line cooking magazine that was a publication of Better Homes and Gardens.  The second cookbook, Chester County Cooks, remains on sale at the library for $10.00 each.
